Prior to the uprising in Libya in February 2011, Our sister company, Mercian Travel, specialised in arranging all aspects of travel to, and whilst in, Libya including visas for UK and foreign nationals.
With the present developments we will be working closely with Mercian Travel with an aim to offer these services to our clients as soon as all the logistics are in place.
Political and humanitarian issues aside, a new governing authority in Libya can only be regarded as a positive development for the country’s international trade and investment prospects and every day we are hearing more positive news coming out of Libya.
We are in regular contact with our agents in Tripoli and in the UK via Mercian Travel. We are monitoring advice issued by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office regarding travel to Libya, and through our partners communicating with UKTI Libya desk and the British Arab Chamber of Commerce regarding trade opportunities. A number of airlines such as Turkish Airlines, Lufthansa, KLM and and major hotels are engaging with us to ensure that we are completely prepared for our clients, old and new, who wish to travel to Libya.
We are planning a Market Visit to Libya as soon as would be realistic and we will keep you updated on how the arrangements for this are progressing.
